Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Protests have erupted across Bengal in response to Union Minister Giriraj Singh's indecent remarks about Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. In Chunchura, Trinamool workers staged a demonstrative protest, donning T-shirts featuring the slogan "Quit India" with featuting Amit Modi's name.
Women Trinamool Congress members displayed placards denouncing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Shubhendu Adhikari, and Union Minister Giriraj Singh as pickpockets.
Local MLA Asit Majumdar condemned the derogatory comments made by Singh, labeling him and others as "big pickpockets and thieves" while emphasizing Mamata Banerjee's cultural contributions to Bengal. He insisted that Singh must apologize for his inappropriate remarks, and he predicted a strong public response in the 2024 elections against insulting a woman Chief Minister, aiming to remove the BJP from power in Delhi.
